The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has announced tenders to build two stretches of the S3 expressway in Dolonslaskie voivodship. The investment is scheduled to get under way in the opening quarter of 2014.
The construction of S3 between Nowa Sol and Legnica, in Lower Silesia, has been divided into five tasks and the tenders concern the 16.4 km section between Nowa Sol Poludnie junction and Gaworzyce junction and the 16.9 km fragment between Gaworzyce junction and Kazmierzow junction. This will be a two-stage procedure and applications to take part must be submitted by 1 October 2013. In stage two the chosen contractors will be asked to submit price offers and apart from the price itself the tender committee will also take into account the deadline and guarantee period proposed by the candidates. The work will take a maximum of 30-33 months to complete from the day the contract is signed. The undertaking will be subsidised by the EU.
The S3 expressway runs from the ports in Swinoujscie and Szczecin, along Poland’s western border through Gorzow Wielkopolski and Zielona Gora from there through Zaglebie Miedziowe with Glogow, Lubin, Polkowice and Legnica and ending at the Polish-Czech border in the south.
