Almost 18,000 job vacancies in the construction industry at the end of 2017

The commonly-known problems faced by construction companies related to the availability of workforce have been confirmed by the most recent statistical data. The Central Statistics Office (GUS) registered 17,900 vacant jobs and 3,400 new job vacancies in the construction sector as at the end of Q4 2017. For comparison, there were about 6,000 job vacancies and 1,000 new vacant jobs at the end of 2016. This is a three-fold increase year on year.
